Where Idyllic Location Matches The Ambience

The Age

Wednesday August 12, 1998

FIVE minutes' walk from Toorak Village stands Marcus and Iwona Clarke's two-storey townhouse, resplendent in its cream art deco exterior and completely renewed inside.

The townhouse, 6 Burnie Street, Toorak, is only a short walk to parkland and the Yarra River, and Mrs Clarke says this "idyllic location" is what she probably will miss most when the family move to their next home in South Yarra.

The Toorak pad is a beauty. It has a superb living room, a dining room, a large family room with an atrium covering a breakfast area, and a kitchen in mostly white. It also has a marvellous garden.

There are two bedrooms - the main with en suite bathroom - and a family bathroom. Bedrooms and bathrooms are upstairs (a balcony juts out from the spacious main bedroom), and all living space is on the ground floor, plus a single garage.

The Clarke home is to be auctioned at 12.30pm on Saturday 29 August by Bennison Mackinnon (9822 0011). Expect $480,000-plus.
